Led by Senior VAG Technical Expertise

Dublin Automotive Services is led by John Nolan, a senior VAG technician with decades of hands-on experience working across multiple generations of Volkswagen Group vehicles.

John has worked with Volkswagen Audi Group diagnostic systems from their early generations through to current platforms, providing deep, practical insight into how VAG vehicles, systems, and architectures evolve over time. This experience allows complex issues to be diagnosed accurately and efficiently, rather than through trial-and-error or unnecessary parts replacement.

Long-Standing Experience with VAG Diagnostic Platforms

Our experience with Volkswagen Audi Group diagnostic systems goes back to the early generations of factory diagnostic platforms, including VAS-PC, which was widely used throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.

When ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) was introduced by the Volkswagen Audi Group around 2013–2014, Dublin Automotive Services adopted the platform at an early stage and has worked with it continuously for more than a decade.

This long-term, consistent use has been built through real-world diagnostic work across multiple generations of Volkswagen Group vehicles. Over time, this has developed a deep understanding of evolving vehicle platforms, control systems, software behaviour, and manufacturer processes.

That continuity of experience allows system behaviour, fault patterns, and platform logic to be understood in context — something that can only be gained through years of hands-on application as systems evolve, rather than isolated exposure at a single point in time.

As a result of this technical depth, John has been consulted by Volkswagen Ireland technical engineers on Volkswagen Audi Group systems and technical issues.

In addition, Dublin Automotive Services is regularly contacted by other independent garages seeking guidance on ODIS behaviour, diagnostic interpretation, and complex Volkswagen Group faults where broader platform knowledge and long-term experience are required.
