Cambelts

The cambelt is one of the most important components of your car and like all of them, over time, is subject to wear and tear.

There is no set rule for how frequently you should replace the cambelt as it depends on factors including the age of the cambelt, its quality, and the engine miles. At Dublin Automotive Services, we generally recommend sticking to the manufacturer’s guidelines at a minimum.

If the cambelt snaps, it can cause serious engine damage, so it’s definitely a better and far cheaper option to replace the cambelt before it gets so worn that it snaps. At our workshop in North Dublin, we can check your cambelt and advise you on whether it needs changing, and can of course change it for you if needs be.
